Serena Curzel obtained her M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2019, and was awarded a PhD degree cum laude in Information Technology from Politecnico di Milano in 2023.
During her PhD research, she developed a compiler-based framework for the acceleration of Deep Learning algorithms in collaboration with a research group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the USA, where she spent a year as a PhD intern between 2021 and 2022. She then spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher, working on FPGA acceleration of Big Data and aerospace applications.
Starting from August 2024 she is Assistant Professor (RTDA) at DEIB, continuing her research on novel methods for design automation and High-Performance Computing. She is also a member of the PandA research group on HLS methodologies.
